Because Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a graphically-demanding FPS game, hardcore players will want to have PC specs that are greatly above the minimum. Die-hard fans may even want to go above and beyond the recommended specs for the game.

Doing so will prevent the player from experiencing screen lag or frame spikes during intense fights. Note that your PC system must be DirectX 12 compatible to play Modern Warfare.

Optimal PC Builds

Any serious FPS player will want their computer to perform well to get the most out of the game. However, for players who wish to play on max settings and prevent frame spikes, players will need to go above-and-beyond.

Casual players should be able to get by with a mid-tier PC, while serious FPS players will want a fully-decked computer to get the most out of the game. A mid-tier PC has no hope of playing the game well on max settings, and forget about running it at all if you’re looking to explore FHD+ or 4k resolutions.

If you’re looking to get the most out of this graphically-intensive FPS game, plan to spend at least $1,200 for a high-end PC. However, the higher you go with performance, the higher you’ll be able to crank up the resolution, so the sky’s the limit!

While some budget PCs should be able to play the game under minimum settings, we don’t recommend it. Performance issues are particularly debilitating for FPS games, especially when playing competitively. Moreover, even in the story mode, playing on low settings seems almost insulting to the game’s highly realistic graphics style.
