Are you looking for the best settings for PUBG? The short answer is that it depends on your preferences.
If you want higher FPS — which you probably do because the game is not optimized and you probably can’t get high frames per seconds — then this guide is for you.
We have discussed the settings on this guide with the top professional players in the game and want to share our findings with the community.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has gained immense popularity since it went into Early Acces on March 23, 2017. The game is far from optimized, so you won’t be able to get high FPS (frames per second) even if you have an extremely powerful card.
After following this simple guide, you will definitely get higher FPS and a smoother gameplay. Let’s get started!

Using a laptop? Make sure to set it to High-Performance mode.
If you have an NVIDIA graphics card, follow the steps below to get higher FPS.

- Set Power Management Mode to Prefer maximum performance.
- Set Multi-Display/Mixed-GPU Acceleration to Single display performance mode.

Graphics Settings in PUBG
- Set everything to Very Low and View Distance to Low. You can change Texture to anything you like the most, but we recommend Medium for most users.
- Set Screen Scale to 100.
- Disable Motion Blur.
- Disable V-SYNC.
Gameplay Key Input Settings in PUBG
- Set Peek to either Toggle or DoubleTap.
Holding Q/E while shooting and moving can be difficult. Changing this to Toggle or DoubleTap lets you focus more on moving and aiming down your target.
Gameplay UI Settings in PUBG
- Set Inventory screen character render to Off.
This will improve inventory loading time and overall performance.
Optimizing Discord
If you happen to use Discord, ensure that you optimize it as well to boost your FPS in PUBG while Discord is running.
- Open Discord and go to the User Settings page.
- Open the Appearance tab and uncheck Hardware Acceleration.
Optimizing Google Chrome
You can also turn off hardware acceleration in Google Chrome so that background applications executed by Chrome do not consume too many resources when you’re playing.
- Open Google Chrome and go to the Settings page.
- Scroll all the way down and click on the Advanced tab.
- Again, scroll all the way down and make sure that Use hardware acceleration when available is turned off.
- Relaunch Google Chrome and close it again.
Clean Your Temporary Files
- Press start, search after %temp% and press Enter.
- Press CTRL + A to select all files in the folder.
- Press the Delete button on your keyboard to delete these temporary files. Skip the ones it can’t delete.
- Empty your recycle bin.
You can also use CCleaner – even the free version will do the job just fine.
